Building Resilience from the Ground Up A Community-Centered Approach in Mirpur, Kushtia

In the heart of Mirpur, Kushtia, UTSAHO is implementing a transformative community-based project aimed at reducing inequality and strengthening the foundation for long-term well-being. Titled “Building Resilience from the Ground Up,” this initiative is rooted in the belief that true development begins with people — through health, education, and opportunity.

The project prioritizes essential healthcare access for marginalized groups who are often overlooked. Through mobile clinics and local health camps, UTSAHO provides free consultations, screenings, and health education — with a special focus on adolescents, elderly individuals, and women. These services help prevent illness, promote hygiene, and ensure early intervention.

Recognizing that education is key to breaking cycles of poverty, the program also offers direct educational support to children and youth. Whether through school supplies, literacy sessions, or scholarships, UTSAHO works to ensure that every child in Mirpur has a chance to thrive, regardless of their background or ability.

Economic empowerment is another pillar of the project. UTSAHO trains unemployed youth and women in practical, income-generating skills such as tailoring, crafts, kitchen gardening, and basic technical work. These opportunities not only reduce dependency but also enhance confidence and agency among participants.

Beyond service delivery, this project fosters active community participation. Workshops on social awareness, drug prevention, gender equity, and environmental care strengthen collective responsibility and long-term social harmony.

Through this holistic model, UTSAHO envisions a resilient Mirpur — where communities are informed, healthy, skilled, and united in shaping their own future.
