Healthy Lives, Bright Futures — A UTSAHO Local Initiative

UTSAHO has launched a dedicated local development initiative in Mirpur, Kushtia aimed at improving the overall quality of life for underprivileged communities through integrated support in health, education, and livelihood. Rooted in compassion and guided by community needs, this project focuses on helping people live healthier, more dignified, and self-reliant lives.

At its core, the program offers free health checkups and medical counseling for adolescents, elderly residents, and women who often lack access to affordable care. Health camps are held regularly, offering services such as basic diagnostics, reproductive health education, and mental wellness sessions — all coordinated by local volunteers and medical professionals.

Beyond healthcare, UTSAHO’s initiative emphasizes educational support for disadvantaged children in Mirpur. Through the provision of scholarships, learning materials, and mentorship, the project seeks to prevent dropouts and promote a love of learning, particularly among girls and children with disabilities.

To tackle rising unemployment, the project organizes skill development training in areas like sewing, home gardening, and rural sanitation. These practical programs are designed to empower youth and women with the ability to generate income and build financial independence.

Finally, the project places strong emphasis on community harmony and awareness. Regular gatherings, workshops, and clean-up drives foster a sense of unity while addressing key issues such as drug prevention, family planning, environmental responsibility, and social cohesion.

This Mirpur-based program reflects UTSAHO’s long-term vision: a community where no one is left behind, where people support each other with dignity, and where sustainable change begins at the grassroots.
