Community Empowerment Through Health, Education & Livelihood (CEHEL)
UTSAHO has launched the Community Empowerment Through Health, Education & Livelihood (CEHEL) project to advance its mission of promoting dignity, self-reliance, and social justice in rural Bangladesh. This project is designed to directly address the core challenges faced by marginalized populations — from lack of access to healthcare and education to the absence of sustainable income opportunities.
At the heart of CEHEL is a commitment to providing free health services to low-income families, with a special focus on adolescents, elderly citizens, and mothers. Regular health camps, preventive awareness sessions, and essential medicines are offered to reduce the healthcare gap in underserved areas. Alongside this, the project supports children’s right to education through scholarships, school supplies, and community-based learning support — especially for girls, differently-abled children, and those at risk of dropout.
To ensure long-term change, CEHEL also empowers youth and women with vocational training in tailoring, handicrafts, sanitation work, and sustainable agriculture. These skill-building initiatives aim to increase family income and reduce dependency. Additionally, the project promotes family planning, hygiene education, and awareness on mental well-being and drug prevention through local workshops and seminars.
Beyond individual services, the CEHEL project fosters a sense of unity and shared responsibility in the community. Through social education, youth leadership activities, and cultural engagement, UTSAHO nurtures an environment of peace, gender equity, and collective progress.
In line with UTSAHO’s vision of a just, inclusive, and self-reliant society, CEHEL strives to create sustainable impact — where every life touched is a step closer to a stronger, healthier, and more hopeful Bangladesh.
